Post Aila Relief work at Karnakhali village of Sandeshkhali - II block in North 24 Parganas

AMURT in re-construction of damaged road caused by Aila

About 600 ft length of road on the way from Block office to Karnakhali village has been damaged in 5 places due to recent cyclone Aila. The students are not able to attend the schools as the situation is such that they have to cross waist height water logged broken roads. AMURT has taken up the project of reconstruction of this damaged road. The local people offered their free labour to construct the same. The project has already been started under the guidance of Acarya Gitisudhananda Avadhuta and Acarya Paritoshananda Avadhuta. Sri Sibakar Mahato and Sri Vidyasagar Sardar the local AMURT representative are also helping this project. We have already provided 2000 sand bags and other required materials and 5 vans for shifting materials for reconstruction work and free morning Tiffin and lunch to the labours giving free service. The concerned BDO Sri Subhajit Mondal has taken up the matter seriously and he assured to informed concerned departments of the Government to make it more strong.

Post-Aila Medical camp in Sundarban area by AMURT

On 12th Agust, 2009 a medical camp was organized in the Manipur Village of Sandeshkhali-II  Block under 24 Parganas (North) district. Dr. Sukanta Bhattacharya, Dr. Arunima Dey the homeopathic physicians engaged in Dr. Paul’s clinic and Dr. Aniruna Dey of Apollo hospital of Kolkata and experienced Dr. L. K. Manna have treated the 274 patients with sufficient free medicines provided by AMURT. The local people were very much pleased and they said that this type of Medical camp was never held in the area. The local BDO being informed of this camp has been very much pleased and provided 250 Kgs of Bleaching powder and 250 Kgs of lime for disinfecting the areas.

Spreading of bleaching powder and lime & Completion of Road re-construction work:

The project undertaken by AMURT-Kolkata on re-construction of damaged road caused by Aila at Karnakhali village of Sandeshkhali  - II block has been completed. The local people specially the students of the area are very happy because they can attend theirs schools and collages without any hindrance.
The project was completed within seven days under the guidance of Acarya Gitisudhananda Avadhuta and Acarya Paritoshananda Avadhuta and with the help of Sri Sibakar Mahato and Sri Vidyasagar Sardar the local AMURT representative.
The local BDO had provided 250 Kg of Bleaching powder and 250 Kgs of lime for disinfecting the areas. We have spread these bleaching powder and lime in the all the following (8) Anchal Panchayets of Sandeshkhali-II block which are Jeliakhali, Bermujur I & II, Khulna, Manipur, Sandeshkhali, Karakati, Durgamandap.and one panchayet i.e., Bhandarkhali Anchal panchayet of Hingalganja block.
